Zone Vice President - Waverly, NE
Responsible for all aspects of safety, package
gas sales, hard-goods sales, local cylinder production, and local cylinder
distribution and North
zone back-office operations. Responsibilities also include small bulk
gas sale in collaboration with the assigned Vice President of Bulk Sales (as
applicable). Work closely with Zone Vice President of Operations regarding matters of
safety and overall zone operations.
Essential Function
* Manage sales budgets.
* Oversight of the sales contract execution process for new and existing
customers including negotiation of terms and conditions in conjunction with
the legal team.
* Set pricing guidelines and strategies.
* Lead the zone team to meet the highest customer service standards.
* Select, develop, and coach key managers as part of the zone management
team as well as develop potential top-performers as future managers.
* Actively work with the recruiting team to identify and /screen/interview
candidates.
* Partner with HR on matters of performance management and in dealings with
unionized employees (where applicable).
* Coordinate and collaborate with Marketing, SHE, Supply Chain, Quality and
Operations teams on safe, efficient, and profitable operations in every
aspect of the business. (Includes asset operation and management,
identification of cost reduction programs, service improvement opportunities,
and participation in key projects for the company and zones).

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's Degree
Bachelor's Degree BS Engineering or Business Administration (MBA preferred) or equivalent
experience in general management and leadership roles in the industrial gas
business.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience
- Conceptual understanding of industrial gas products, production,
distribution applications and equipment.
- Significant training in safety and compliance (OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA).
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing practices.
- Ten (10) years or more of direct management experience in Industrial
Gas/Distribution business, either as a manufacturer, distributor and/or
supplier to the industry.
- Five (5) years or more of sales and operations management, P & L
responsibility of a business/unit at least 30% of the size of the zone,
management of large teams of diverse performers.
- Management of managers, budgeting and planning, sales coaching and sales
negotiations.
- Personnel management of geographically dispersed field operations and/or
significant multi-function operations.
- Training/Certifications/Licensures: sales and management training, product
knowledge, coaching and managing large organizations. [Should this be moved

Technical
* Computer skills include Microsoft business suite (i.e., Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook) and CRM/Dynamics 365.
Leadership
Tremendous leadership ability to lead the teams to achieve the company
goals of safety, customer service, business performance and employee
development. Align the execution of the Zone Business Plan to the needs of
the organization with the local needs/opportunities in the market. Lead the
business unit to the greater success of the entire company as supported by
collaboration and communications with other functional departments.
Communications
Very strong oral and written communication skills both within and
outside of the organization.
Financial Analysis
- Ability to manage the zone business to the established financial
goals.
- Develop plans and implement to affect business results. Manage the zone to
drive financial and organizational performance.
