The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Global Product Manager, Informatics. This product management role within the Clinical Labs business unit is responsible for the expansion of Informatics and Automation business. The role will support customer retention with new Informatics solutions, including Results Manager and QuidelOrtho Hub.

The Position

1) Development of informatics portfolio informatics solutions and tools as directed by Sr Global Product Manager:

  • Develop high impact sales tools that communicate a differentiated and compelling value proposition and the benefits to targeted customers.

  • Integrate actionable competitive intelligence and positioning into Clinical Laboratories, Immunohematology and Point of Care portfolio solutions

  • Enable portfolio transition from stand-alone to integrated enabling increased lifetime customer value.

2) Drive focus on product integration relative to Informatics solutions while developing product strategies around these key portfolio components.

  • Develop marketing plans including market dynamics, competitive environment, customer segmentation, positioning and messaging, market potential, market share and forecast models for current products and products in development, with a key focus on Clin Lab, IH, POC & laboratory automation IT solutions.

  • Partner closely with regional teams to identify and solve challenges across areas like market needs, competitive dynamics, internal policy, organization design, and alignment between service and sales teams.

  • Manage product quality, supply and lifecycle prioritization by driving cross functional teams including

R&D, Quality and Regulatory and Supply Chain to shape the evolution of the product portfolio

  • Partnering with global product management colleagues to create and drive the relevant menu and instrument strategy that led to sustainable near and long-term business growth.

  • Monitor product performance in close collaboration with quality, compliance, and customer technical services and take lead in actions appropriate to ensure quality and availability of assigned products.

  • Develop high impact sales tools that communicate a differentiated and compelling value proposition and benefits of assigned system(s), with a key focus on laboratory efficiency and effectiveness metrics.

  • Develop and implement launch plans for new product introductions.

  • Develop and validate new product requirements including features, software and consumables based on global customer needs, market insights and competitive frame to drive product differentiation and sales.

  • Manage pre-launch beta site testing activities

The Individual

Required:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience is required. Diagnostics industry or medical device experience is required.

  • Sound analytical and communication skills are a necessity.

  • Proficiency in creating, writing, and editing presentations with recommendations written and oral.

  • Demonstrated business prioritization and problem-solving skills with ability to deliver results using critical thinking in the face of ambiguity.

Preferred:

  • Able to influence without authority.

  • Laboratory IT and global marketing experience preferred.

  • Experience in new product development including needs assessment, claims development, financial acumen, and product launch preferred.

  • Strong collaborator with comfort managing stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

  • Familiarity with Informatics and Middleware solutions used by QuidelOrtho.

The Key Stakeholders

Key internal interactions with business unit and commercial leadership, regional marketing and communication teams, R&D, program management, finance and quality/ regulatory affairs. External interactions with customers and scientific thought leaders in transfusion space. Upholds company policy and direction in interactions with corporate personnel and end-use customers.

The Work Environment

Hybrid office environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills, and self-motivation to work autonomously and collectively with internal team members that are office or remotely based. Travel up to 25% including airplane, automobile, or train. Some overnight travel is required. Some global travel required.

Physical Demands

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $135,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
