The Enterprise AI Platform team is seeking an experienced Director, Enterprise AI Platform to help lead the development and execution of our enterprise-wide AI platform strategy as part of the Enterprise Data & AI platform leadership team. This role will be instrumental in shaping the future of AI capabilities across the organization, enabling scalable solutions that empower teams to harness the full potential of AI and machine learning (ML).

Key responsibilities:

As a strategic leader, you will be a driving force behind our enterprise-wide AI platform, empowering teams to unlock the full potential of AI and machine learning (ML). Your ability to influence and inspire will be critical in aligning diverse stakeholders and driving AI adoption across GSK. You will be the visionary for what AI and AI platforms mean to GSK, helping to shape the future of healthcare.

Strategic AI Vision, Influence, and Partnership:

  • Establish and articulate a compelling next-gen vision for the Enterprise AI Platform, aligning with GSK's strategic goals and industry trends.
  • Act as a recognized thought leader in AI/ML, proactively identifying and advocating for innovative AI solutions.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, data science, business units) to drive collaborative AI initiatives.
  • Influence senior leadership and stakeholders to prioritize AI investments and initiatives, fostering a data-driven culture.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with external vendors and research institutions.

Platform Innovation and Scalable Architecture:

  • Lead the design and development of a scalable, robust AI platform that supports diverse enterprise use cases, anticipating future needs.
  • Lead the enablement of platform capabilities for rapid ingestion, preprocessing, and creation of AI-ready datasets, optimizing for advanced RAG, fine-tuning, and multi-agent systems.
  • Champion the adoption of cutting-edge AI technologies, including multi-agent systems, advanced RAG, and generative AI, to drive business value.
  • Drive continuous improvement in platform performance, reliability, and user experience, leveraging agile methodologies and best practices.
  • Lead the development and deployment of multi-agent systems that can automate complex business processes.

Governance, Responsible AI (RAI), and Talent Development:

  • Champion Responsible AI (RAI) practices, ensuring ethical model development, bias mitigation, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, GxP).
  • Act as a GSK leader in prompt engineering, AI/ML best practices, and multi-agent orchestration, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Ensure high levels of model evaluation accuracy and implement robust evaluation frameworks.
  • Lead the development of training programs to increase AI literacy across the organization.

Technical Strategy and Business Impact:

  • Balance hands-on technical oversight with strategic leadership, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Drive the platform to deliver measurable business impact, while proactively managing technical debt.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of AI initiatives.

Technical skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in leading and managing technical teams, with a track record of fostering collaboration and driving innovation.
  • (7+ years) Industry expertise in designing and building scalable AI platforms capable of supporting enterprise-wide AI initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • (10+ years) proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services, with experience in deploying and managing AI solutions in cloud environments.
  • Proven history to teach and accelerate the organization's solution delivery of AI technologies.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying production-quality AI/ML models and solutions, including both classic ML and generative AI.
  • Industry knowledge of platform engineering principles and practices for deploying and managing AI services at scale.
  • Experience in developing and deploying multi-agent systems capable of automating complex business processes.
