Position Summary:

Sony Corporation of America is seeking a Senior (Sr) Flight Attendant. The Sr Flight Attendant advises the Chief Pilot in all matters of flight attendant safety, management and policy. The Sr Flight Attendant will assist the Trip Captain in the conduct of the assigned flight and shares responsibility for safety of flight relevant to the passengers and cabin of the aircraft. This individual will be responsible for ordering all aircraft catering during the assigned flights. This individual will also administer training for all contract flight attendants to ensure the highest level of flight safety, customer service, and efficiency. The Sr Flight Attendant is responsible for maintaining stock inventories along with passenger special need lists and request items.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities fall into four general categories: operational, administrative, planning and training however additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor or Captain on trips. The Sr Flight Attendant, infrequently maybe required to report to the office as necessary for administrative/management duties.

Operational:

  • Perform duties as assigned by Chief Pilot or Vice President of Aviation.
  • Is responsible to the Captain for all assigned inflight duties, adherence to the SOP and proper use of Crew Resource Management procedures.
  • Primary inflight responsibility is to assist passengers during aircraft emergencies or other life-threatening conditions.
  • Normal inflight responsibility is to provide highest level of passenger service to aircraft users and their guests while adhering to appropriate operation manual guidance.
  • Facilitate and ensure communication between passengers, crewmembers and administrators of the Flight Department.
  • Administer on site first aid including AED/CPR with the assistance of inflight medical service providers, when necessary.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of galley located controls, cabin safety and audio/visual systems and cabin lighting systems for all aircraft flown.
  • Ensure the aircraft is stocked, the catering is correct and stowed, and the cabin is in a presentable condition before passengers are boarded.
  • Order catering in accordance with trip sheet, Passenger Profile Database, and passenger requests IAW FOM cost containment guidelines as well as serve food to passengers and crew during flight.
  • Maintain cabin cleanliness during flight and cabin/equipment clean up after each flight.
  • Ensure that aircraft is completely restocked, cleaned, and ready for next flight, including tableware and linen cleaning, after returning to either the TEB or LAX base.

Administrative:

  • Maintain and hold a valid passport and any required visas as well as current ID Cards required by the Sony FOM.
  • Participate in and help maintain the Passenger Profile Database with user specific inflight requirements, requests, and preferences.
  • Manage all audiovisual equipment and media (DVDs and CDs) to include ordering, inventory, and stocking aircraft.
  • Monitors Flight Attendant uniforms and provides status input to Chief Pilot.
  • Report as necessary for administrative/management duties and may include duties in support of Office/Scheduling staff.

Planning:

  • Assist Scheduling with assignments and other crewing considerations when contract flight attendants are assigned to cover Company trips.
  • Maintain inflight service plan and develop highest standard of customer service through input to the Sony Flight Operations Manual (FOM) and Sony Fixed Wing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Manual.
  • Collaborates annually with Chief Pilot, Training Captain, and Standardization Captain to develop SOP Review exams (JUL).
  • Uses applicable portions of the above manuals to maintain the Contract Flight Attendant Handbook.
  • When purchasing new aircraft, responsible for providing cabin design specification input.
  • Monitor all cabin equipment requirements. Develop obsolesce plan and associated replacement budget. Submit budgeting and ordering requests through Chief Pilot.
  • Manage aircraft supply lockers and ensure inventory orders are submitted for approval by the Chief Pilot.
  • Manage a system for aircraft cabin stock room inventory rotation; ensuring items are utilized in order of expiration, are disposed of when expired, and replenished as necessary.
  • Coordinate flight attendant effort in attaining Department cost-containment program goals and objectives.

Training:

  • Develop and conduct in-house flight attendant training seminars and departmental flight attendant focus discussions.
  • Assist in initial in-house training for newly hired and contract flight attendants.
  • Maintains a mentor status to non-Sr Flight Attendants.
  • Oversees out-sourced initial training process with vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Requires a minimum of five years of related work experience as a corporate or private flight attendant with extensive international experience.
  • Aviation training or management related background desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and thorough working knowledge of food service and passenger relations.
  • Possess a current first aid card and is AED/CPR qualified.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $155,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 10%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
