Responsibilities

Job Summary
Position assists Security Leadership with workplace and public safety training, analysis, inspections, and overall network preparedness in the area of workplace and public safety and regulatory requirements. Specialist will collaborate with staff and leadership from across the network for implementation of best practices in workplace and public safety as well as collaborate with emergency management, clinical staff, and communications personnel. Specialist responsibilities include hospital assessments, planning, education, and training to assist in supporting network wide workplace and public safety related preparedness. Specialist will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining all policies, procedures, and practices related to workplace and public safety in accordance with industry standards and compliance. Specialist will also ensure collaboration across the network in conducting security and facility risk assessments along with providing the required documentation for annual reports and program effectiveness.
Essential Functions
  • Collaborates with clinical departmental staff and leadership from across the network to develop synergy in workplace and public safety planning, training, culture, and preparations. Daily focus on relationships and collaborative interaction for successful preparation, education, and readiness. Coordinates with HonorHealth clinical departments and senior leadership to identify where security is needed to provide services appropriately. Specializes in workplace in public safety training and preparedness. Develops security assessment reports for senior leadership as needed.
  • Provides technical guidance, training, and practical drills across the network to ensure HonorHealth policies and procedures related to workplace and public safety are in alignment. Responsible for ensuring assigned security Key Performance indicators (KPI's) are tracked, recorded, and aligned across the network. Conducts security and facility risk assessments required or requested at all network locations. Coordinates with first responders (police, fire, EMS), local, state, federal government agencies, and community partners in relation to public safety and security preparedness training and implementation. Provides the required documentation for annual reports and program effectiveness. Collaborates with security leadership for Field Training Officer (FTO) program requirements including effectiveness, curriculum, teach back and office knowledge retention. Prepares and evaluates workplace violence prevention training, documentation, assessments, and program effectiveness as directed by security leadership.
  • Collaborates with Security leadership to ensure HonorHealth policies and procedures related to workplace and public safety are in alignment at all locations across the network. Performs duties as the author on security policies and guidelines located in the online policy and procedure program. Develops and implements appropriate training in alignment with policies and procedures. Ensures annual security assessments are completed at each assigned location. Conducts security assessments at Medical Group locations, makes recommendations, and coordinates the implementation of approved recommendations. Responds to Medical Group security needs and requests. Conducts investigations as needed for the network.
  • Participates in various committees, subcommittees, and coalitions as determined by leadership. Serves as a liaison and develops relationships with all related governmental bodies, community partners, coalitions, and regulating agencies.
Education
  • Master's Degree or 6 years' work related experience - Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience - Required
Experience
  • 5 years Law Enforcement or Security Experience - Required
  • 8 years Law Enforcement or Security Experience - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 90 Days - Required
  • Prior Sworn (certified) Law Enforcement Officer IAHSS CHPA (Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator) Designation in CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) - Preferred
  • Driver License Valid Arizona driver's license - Required
