Posting Summary |
Reporting to the Director of Career and Academic Success, the Assistant Director of the Career Center is a member of the highly collaborative Division of Student Academic Success team and works with various Rutgers-Camden stakeholders to develop, facilitate, and coordinate an innovative student success agenda with a primary focus on career development and job placement services. The assistant director supports the Division's overall mission, strategic plan, and goals; and serves as the driver for projects and initiatives central to the career success of undergraduate and graduate students and alumni and supports the College's overall commitment to access, community engagement, and excellence in supporting a diverse student body, alumni, faculty, and staff.
The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Rutgers-Camden Career Center, including all programs and services designed to provide career readiness, planning and placement services to all undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. The Assistant Director supervises professional and support staff and ensures a high level of customer service is provided. Creates marketing strategies and innovative programs to engage employers to develop internship opportunities, to foster job placement, and for students to fully utilize programs and services. Remains abreast of current of trends in career services and job market, including the use of technology, economic trends and best practices. Oversees the three critical mission areas of the Career Center including: career development, career readiness, and job placement including the development and management of student-focused programs, developing relationships with employers and working with faculty to incorporate career competencies into curriculum. |

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Minimum Education and Experience |
Bachelor's degree or higher required plus a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in managing a career services operation at the college/university level. Higher Education and career services administrative experience required. |

Preferred Qualifications |

Knowledge of job market and economic trends desired. |
