What you'll do:

As a Compliance Manager you'll support compliance management with regulatory strategies and execution of the Compliance Management System (CMS) through the development, assessment, identification, and supporting implementation of regulatory changes, incorporating risk tolerance and thresholds. You'll indirectly oversee other compliance professionals, collaborates with first, second, and third line of defense departments through regulatory change and implementation, and business changes. In this role you'll work in second line of defense (2LOD) on oversight, provide guidance and advice on the Bank's regulatory strategies, regulatory change management and impact to the organization. You'll also support regulatory change management, business changes, data management, and other risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide advice across all lines of defense in the applicability and impact of regulations, and provide leadership in the assessment of business changes impacting compliance.
  • Support process design and implementation of an enhanced regulatory change management process across the three lines of defense to maintain an effective compliance risk management program.
  • Conduct annual or periodic compliance risk assessments, preparing rationale and appropriate evidence and artifacts that support the IRR, QRM and RRR ratings.
  • May lead and develop a team: responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.

What you'll need:

  • 7+ years of related experience in Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of financial services compliance and operations including the related rules and regulations applicable to the financial services industry.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience and skills in effectively communicating (verbal and written) risk assessment results to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management with a focus on collaboration and relationship management.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager preferred.
  • Occasional travel required.
