City Experiences is seeking a Director, SEO & Content Strategy for our Marketing operations.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

As a successful Director of SEO & Content Strategy, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive digital organic growth strategy. This role is responsible for driving search visibility, authority, and engagement through strategic content development, advanced SEO tactics, and AI Search Optimization. As well as, defining digital content strategy across owned channels. You'll bring together creative content leadership and technical search expertise-empowered by AI-to scale growth, improve rankings, and deepen user engagement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Own and execute the SEO & content strategy roadmap, aligning organic growth initiatives with business goals.
  • Initiate technical best practices across engineering teams and on-page SEO efforts including site audits, architecture, schema, internal linking, and performance optimization.
  • Integrate AI Search Optimization techniques to enhance keyword clustering, automate insights, and optimize for evolving search engine behaviors, including AI-generated SERPs.
  • Develop and maintain a scalable content strategy informed by SEO insights, customer intent, customer journey impact and competitive research.
  • Guide the use of generative AI tools to support ideation, optimization, and experimentation-while upholding brand and editorial quality.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, engineering, and analytics teams to embed SEO best practices into workflows and digital experiences.
  • Implement and manage robust reporting frameworks to track performance, test results, and size opportunities for optimization prioritization.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of SEO Manager, Sr. Content Manager, and external support.
  • Define business case for team growth and supporting agency needs.


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • 7-10 years of experience in SEO and content marketing, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, search engine algorithms, and content optimization frameworks.
  • Proven experience with AI-enhanced SEO tools, predictive analytics, or machine learning applied to search.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Clearscope, Surfer, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and generative AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Jasper).
  • Hands-on experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, GA4, Looker, Tableau etc.) and SEO automation.
  • Exceptional communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience leading SEO and content programs in a high-growth or tech-driven company.
  • Curiosity and strong desire to test within AI as it is reshaping SERP features and zero-click search experiences.
  • Familiarity with structured data, mobile SEO, Core Web Vitals, and international SEO.
