Hours & Pay

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Salary Range: $55,000 - $90,000/year (based on experience)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

What You'll Do



  • Shop Floor Leadership:

    • Lead a day shift of 14 machinists and 3 programmers with plans to scale to 50+ team members across multiple shifts.
    • Act as a working manager-ready to operate any equipment in the machine shop as needed.
    • Foster a culture of professionalism, continuous improvement, and teamwork.


  • Production & Planning:

    • Schedule and coordinate all machining operations, including programming, milling, turning, and outside services.
    • Manage daily shop performance, including run times, job log-ins, on-time delivery, and profitability metrics.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA/QC, welding, finishing, engineering, estimating, and executive leadership to ensure workflow efficiency.


  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
    • Develop new SOPs and support the shop's ongoing expansion in size and capability.


  • Infrastructure Development:

    • Plan for future growth in both headcount and technical capabilities.
    • Ensure smooth integration of new equipment, processes, and employees.

What You Bring to the Table



  • 10+ years of experience leading 10+ machinists in a precision machine shop environment.
  • Deep expertise in multi-axis CNC machining, including programming, milling, turning, and inspection.
  • ERP experience (ShopTech E2 or similar) and proficiency in Excel for shop planning and scheduling.
  • Strong leadership skills-able to build high-performing teams and drive results.
  • Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining using both standard and exotic metals.
  • Understanding of welding, plating, finishing, assembly, and rigging is a plus.
  • A hands-on, team-oriented management style with excellent communication skills.
