Salary Range: Up to $177,105 DOE/DOQ*

*This range will also be subject to a 2% COLA that takes effect on July 1, 2025.

The City of South Pasadena, California, is seeking a technically skilled and service-oriented Accounting Manager / Controller to lead financial operations during a time of modernization and transformation. This critical leadership position is responsible for managing core accounting functions, including general ledger oversight, audit coordination, payroll administration, financial reporting, and support for the City's budgeting processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer / Assistant City Manager, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in stabilizing the Finance Department's operations, implementing best practices and enhanced internal controls. They will oversee an accounting team of three and collaborate with a Budget and Purchasing Manager and the Chief Financial Officer to steward the City's $84 million annual budget, provide sound financial projections for decision-making, and secure South Pasadena's fiscal future.
