Hunter Hamilton is partnering with a large corporate client looking for a temporary Payroll Analyst to work at their Mableton, GA office. This role is temporary through the end of September at this time and it is hybrid 3 days in office and 2 days potential remote each week working full time hours Monday through Friday. Hunter Hamilton offers hourly/weekly pay, direct deposit and temporary health benefits.

The Payroll Analyst performs a variety of duties related to payroll processing, time & attendance, auditing/analyses, reporting, retro payments and project management. This will be a mid level position to join an experienced payroll team and immediately add value to the organization. This person will focus primarily on Payroll Analysis and Processing, including union payrolls and payroll tax compliance. This position requires knowledge of federal and multi-state wage and hour laws, reporting, regulations and compliance requirements. Other attributes include an in-depth knowledge of ADP payroll platforms (preferably Vantage, but Enterprise or Workforce Now is acceptable), as well as time & attendance systems, including ADP's eTime.


TYPICAL DUTIES:


  • Execute and manage the weekly and biweekly payroll processing of earnings and commissions for multiple locations, including union environments
  • Generate and review audit reports to ensure accuracy of payroll data
  • Research and resolve payroll, time and process issues, and provide recommendations for resolution/correction
  • Administer liens and garnishments based on state and federal statutory requirements
  • Administer and pay severance payments
  • Will be processing multi-state payroll for 500+ employees utilizing the ADP Vantage payroll system
  • Develop, recommend, and implement new approaches to payroll policies and procedures to effect continuous improvements and efficiency
  • Assist Payroll Compliance Analyst with various tasks including research, analysis and resolution of complex issues surrounding payroll and payroll tax processes and systems.
  • Provide backup support to other Payroll Analysts
  • Audit and validate quarterly and annual payroll tax returns; federal, state, local and SUI. Research and resolve tax discrepancies each pay period and assist with W-2Cs as needed.
  • Assist with requests from internal and external audits. Review requests for data from auditors, state or federal agencies and helps determine what data to provide. Compile data systematically, where possible, and review for accuracy. Ensure that information is released in accordance with company policy and department procedures.
  • Assist Payroll team and internal partners to develop, implement, and communicate new system implementations or upgrades, payroll processes, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other related field, or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience
  • Three or more years of payroll processing experience, with two or more years of business operations and operations support experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-state and federal wage and hour laws/regulations, including interpretations
  • In-depth understanding of features and functions of an automated payroll system and time collection system
  • Strong analytical skills and process orientation
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills, attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues and provide solutions to a variety of complex problems
  • Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) to support issue analysis and documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate and partner effectively with cross-functional teams
