The Position

As a Scientist in the Personalized Healthcare team you are initiating, directing and performing scientific research, development and manufacturing process strategies to support new and existing diagnostics products.

Your expertise in histology will be crucial as you understand disease states, scoring algorithms, and their implications for experimental design. You will also play a key role in planning analytical method development, creating or approving labels, developing or updating Material Safety Data Sheets, and crafting detailed assay design specification sheets. The Opportunity
  • Creates potentially patentable components for systems, reagents or processes. Utilizes DOE where appropriate.
  • Participates in cross functional technical team activities. Shares knowledge and expertise with others. Participates in project planning, process updates and contributes to experimental design.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations of project results to others. Monitors work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time.
  • Analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and provides/implements process or document improvements.
Additional Responsibilities for Sr Scientist
  • Conceives, plans, designs and conducts advanced independent research in compound, assay, process, product or method development to support on-going production, continuous improvements and new product transfer.
  • Receives general direction and exercises considerable discretion as to work details.
  • Contributes to the definition and timely achievement of overall project goals. Identifies and solves technical challenges. Identifies and implements improvements to work processes. Designs, plans and executes project-related tasks. Complete experiments to test hypotheses related to project outcomes.
  • Assures experimental quality through sound, independent, experimental design. Participates or leads cross functional technical teams such as a failure investigation or core team. Establishes interfaces across other organizational groups. Provides technical direction and feedback to others. Teaches others and troubleshoots problems.
Who you are

Scientist

  • Bachelor's Degree is science and 8 years of relevant experience is required
  • (Master's with 3 years, or entry level PhD is equivalent)

Sr Scientist

  • Bachelor's Degree is science and 10 years of relevant experience is required
  • (Master's with 5 years, or 2 year experienced PhD is equivalent)

Relocation benefits not offered.

The expected salary range for this position based on Tucson, Arizona is:

Scientist 81,100.00 - 125,472.00 USD Annually

Sr Scientist: 94,200.00 - 159,600.00 USD Annually

Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
