Job Title: Sr. Generalist

Location: Southfield, MI

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Through our four business groups, DRiV, Performance Solutions, Clean Air and Powertrain, Tenneco is driving advancements in global mobility by delivering technology solutions for diversified global markets, including light vehicle, commercial truck, off-highway, industrial, motorsport and the aftermarket.

We are looking for a Senior HR Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support to our local business partners. This role will focus on delivering operational excellence across key HR functions, including employee relations, talent management, compliance, and workforce planning. The Senior HR Generalist will collaborate closely with HR leadership and business leaders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives while enhancing the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Address and resolve employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and reporting for audits and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment laws while mitigating organizational risk.
  • Support local hiring efforts, working with Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless recruitment and selection process.
  • Provide support on benefits administration, responding to employee inquiries and escalating complex cases when needed.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring a positive experience and smooth integration into the company.
  • Educate employees and managers on company policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Assist in compensation reviews, job evaluations, and salary benchmarking to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness
  • Maintain HRIS records, generate reports, and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making.
  • Support HR process improvements, leveraging technology and automation where possible.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing, automotive, or corporate setting.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience handling employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
