Raymond West is looking for a meticulous Systems Safety Engineer to join our EHS team! As a Systems Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the Safety and Compliance of systems engineering projects by analyzing and mitigating risks throughout the development process. This position will act as the safety subject matter expert during proposal reviews with Sales/Estimation. This positions key responsibilities include evaluating project proposals for safety compliance, identifying risks, and recommending mitigation strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into project plans and provide guidance on safety-related issues. This role will work across multiple teams to identify potential safety issues and develop solutions to prevent accidents and failures.

- Responsible for ensuring safety and compliance standards are met for systems engineering projects by analyzing and mitigating risks throughout the development process.
- Will work across multiple teams to identify potential safety issues and develop solutions to prevent accidents and failures
- Conduct safety analysis and risk assessment for engineering projects
- Develop and implement safety engineering processes and standards
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into product design
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety protocols and systems
- Prepare safety cases and documentation for regulatory submissions
- Conduct safety training and workshops for engineering staff
- Report on safety performance and improvement measures to management
- Stay up to date with industry safety standards and regulations
- Provide safety oversight during active installations
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Assists in the implementation of safety-related corrective actions
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent Organizational Time Management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Must be able to maintain effective working relationships with employees, Co-workers, and Managers in other departments
- Must be willing to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willing to assume more responsibility as required
- Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in risk management and safety assessment tools
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Education/Experience:
Minimum Education and Experience: Determined by position
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in systems safety engineering or a related role
- Knowledge of Safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or MIL-STD-882
- Experience with Safety analysis techniques like FMEA, FTA, and hazard analysis
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices
- Ability to interpret and apply safety regulations and laws
Travel Requirement:
- 35% (18-20 hours a week)

Pay Range:
- The salary range for this position is $81,000 - $121,000. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
