WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

As a part-time Admin III, you will provide standard and complex administrative support to the director of Blood Product Manufacturing. In this role, you will prepare reports and various correspondences, plan engagement activities for the department, help drive positive culture initiatives, coordinate travel, and scheduling. You will provide support on the administration of projects, programs, and/or processes applicable to manufacturing; coordinate various schedules for department or group programs/services. Provide support, development, and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Prepare and maintain memos, records, reports, data or correspondence for staff signature. Review correspondence for consistency with corporate policies and practices. May assist in the development of presentations.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as maintaining and collecting data, coordinating the provision of organizational services (i.e. purchasing, supplies, catering, copying/printing), coordinating unit mail and communication flow, assisting in expenditure tracking and budget preparation.
  • Screen telephone and office callers and resolve routine inquiries. Answer routine requests and direct others to supervisor, appropriate staff member or another office.
  • Schedule and maintain calendar of appointments, meetings, events, program initiatives and travel itineraries.
  • May relieve other administrative staff in the unit during temporary absences.
  • Track purchase orders; plan and book travel.
  • Assist in completing timecard tasks or other business-related tasks in our Workday system.

Schedule: 24 hours per week: Tues through Friday, 6 hours per day; or M, W, F; 8 hours per day.

Pay Information: $25-28/hour

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.

This is an on-site position, based out of our Pomona facility.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: High School or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of office/administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer proficient; able to navigate Microsoft office products with ease (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Must be able to learn new software/computer programs and become proficient.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
