Lone Star College-System Office employees are based at one of two System Office locations; The Woodlands and University Park. Both are the site for multiple administrative departments and system-wide training programs.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The System Administrator II, Security and Workflow focuses on a variety of technical work and analysis as required for the development of user and systems security requirements. Performs highly complex tasks involving planning, designing, programming, installation, and maintenance of college systems. This position is a member of a 24/7/365 global department with travel within the LSC service area and the availability of on-call scheduling.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Identity and Access Management (IAM):

* Leveraging IAM solutions and related tools for ERP Role Automation.

* Implement and enforce IAM policies and procedures to ensure secure access to systems and data.

* Monitor and audit access controls and IAM systems to detect and respond to unauthorized access.

* Perform regular reviews of user access rights and roles to ensure compliance with security policies.

2. ERP Security Administration:

* Develop, implement, and manage security policies, procedures, and controls for ERP applications.

* Configure and maintain user profiles, roles, and permissions in ERP system.

* Monitor and audit security logs to identify and mitigate security threats.

* Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and security of ERP applications.

* Conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary improvements.

3. Workflow Administration:

* Design, implement, and manage workflow processes within ERP and other integrated systems.

* Ensure workflow processes are optimized for efficiency and compliance with organizational policies.

* Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workflow processes.

* Collaborate with business units to understand and fulfill workflow requirements.

4. General Security Responsibilities:

* Stay current with emerging security threats and best practices.

* Participate in incident response activities and provide expertise.

* Develop and maintain documentation for security, workflow, and IAM processes.

* Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Requires knowledge of learned routines, procedures, practices, and skills that are more complex
  • Demonstrated analysis skills, knowledge of business process review functions, and knowledge of process design, and project management
  • Ability to work in cooperation with developers, analysts, managers, and consultants
  • Ability to deal with complex problems that must be broken down into manageable pieces
  • Understands relationships between problem components and prioritizes them
  • Utilizes knowledge, experience, and available resources to find solutions
  • Participate in formal or informal group problem solving for immediate issues and to collaborate with team and shares relevant information with those who may be affected by decisions

  • Ability to recognize immediate obstacles to completing work and initiate action to address a need without being directed
  • Knows and follows standard operating procedures and define departmental metrics
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to information security (e.g. HIPAA, FERPA, HEA, etc.) is preferred
  • Familiarity with database security and encryption techniques is preferred

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • May regularly travel to different LSC locations
  • May be fully reassigned to other LSC locations if necessary
  • May need to work weekends and outside of core business hours if necessary

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's degree and at least 4 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience must include at least 3 years in application security administration within PeopleSoft or similar ERP system
  • Experience with IAM solution products
  • Experience with role-based access control and security configuration
  • Experience in workflow administration within PeopleSoft or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with security monitoring tools and techniques

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades and patch management
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Application Administration
  • Experience with Cloud ERP support
  • Experience working in higher education
  • ITIL Certification
Salary

Hiring salary range is $64,826 - $74,550

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
