Summary:

The Director of Business Development will lead the definition, planning, and execution of strategies to drive business growth, focusing on the acquisition of new customers. This role provides leadership and support to business unit and design engineering teams across the organization to maximize sales growth and profitability. The Director will also help contribute to training and sales collateral. A strong background in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS), Contract Manufacturing, or electronics OEM environments is required. This role is specifically focused on expanding our market share in the Industrials sector. This role is remote and will require being located in a Central US State, within 30 minutes of an international airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business plans and sales strategies for each market segment to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  • Lead new customer development efforts within designated markets and segments.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions aligned with the corporate growth strategy.
  • Create and execute marketing plans to drive new business opportunities.
  • Assist in developing quote and proposal templates.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of sales strategies, costs, and outcomes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage and support the development of strategic customer accounts.
  • Work closely with business unit/design engineering teams to ensure timely, accurate, and competitive pricing on all quotes and proposals, while protecting profitability.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals, presentations, and RFP responses.
  • Lead critical components of proposal and presentation development and assist teams as needed.
  • Ensure that prospecting, appointment, presentation, proposal, and quote activity objectives and targets are met.
  • Maintain accountability by delegating authority as appropriate and following up on outcomes.
  • Foster strong relationships with new customers to ensure high satisfaction and ongoing business.
  • Regularly establish, review, and execute business development and marketing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of program management, business development, or account management experience, in the electronics manufacturing sector.
  • Strong experience with continuous improvement processes.
  • Ability to solve complex planning and operational issues with minimal supervision.
  • Effective analytical, strategic planning, and organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse project teams under tight deadlines and across multiple initiatives.
  • Solid financial acumen and experience in risk analysis, relationship building, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
  • Strong base knowledge of electronics manufacturing industry business model, commercial terms, and cost models

Education: Bachelor's Degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or related fields, Masters preferred
