Title Examiner
Contract-to-hire | Remote (U.S. based) We're partnering with a fast-growing company in the real estate and technology space that is looking to add an experienced Title Examiner to their team. This role requires a detail-oriented, resourceful professional with deep expertise in national title operations, a strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. The ideal candidate has national experience in title search and exam, can manage multiple files simultaneously, and thrives in a collaborative, metric-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and review title searches using DataTrace, PACER, Patriot/OFAC, and Lexis/Nexis
Review county GIS overlays and satellite images to flag potential survey issues
Evaluate and update title commitments as new data becomes available
Review and approve supporting legal documents including trusts, probates, divorce decrees, bankruptcies, death certificates, etc.
Partner with vendors to ensure delivery of compliant and timely search packages
Proactively identify risks or red flags and suggest resolutions before escalation
Adapt quickly to changing requirements, search processes, and market expansion
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of title examining experience, ideally within a national scope
Experience examining titles in at least 4 U.S. states is required
Strong familiarity with national search and exam processes - experience in Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, or New Jersey markets is a plus
Bachelor's degree required
Proficiency with title production software, DataTrace, PACER, Lexis/Nexis, and collaboration tools like Slack
Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Collaborative, team-first mindset - able to manage your own pipeline while stepping in to support others as needed
