Role Summary

In this role you will be leveraging quality and reliability statistical principles by analyzing big data and telemetry, you will conduct deep dives and make impactful decisions affecting our entire fleet, ultimately elevating our customer experience. This role demands initiative, a passion for data-driven problem-solving, and the ability to drive teams towards effective solutions. As a member of the Field Reliability & Quality team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding vehicle quality in the hands of our customers. This high-impact position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong indirect leadership capabilities. You will be at the forefront of addressing critical, high-severity issues, guiding cross-functional teams through triage, problem-solving, and resolution. Your efforts will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and may involve leading investigations that could potentially result in Field Service Actions.


Responsibilities

  • Lead issue triage and resolution for vehicle breakdowns and high-severity events, driving metric improvement.
  • Proactively identify and escalate emerging high-impact issues using warranty data for early resolution.
  • Drive timely root cause analysis and resolution by holding cross-functional teams accountable.
  • Manage the end-to-end Field Service Action (FSA) process, including investigations, cross-functional collaboration (Service, Legal, Engineering, Manufacturing, Homologation, Compliance)
  • Develop business cases and present information to leadership for customer satisfaction campaigns and FSA decisions.
  • Manage financial accruals and budget tracking.
  • Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into relevant processes.
  • Develop and track data-driven metrics for issue monitoring and corrective action effectiveness.
  • Create innovative tools and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in automotive Quality or a related field.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a high level of analytical ability to tackle complex issues.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in product and/or project management tools and agile methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of database structures and practical experience using SQL.
  • Experience working with and analyzing large datasets.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Python and the Pandas library (nice to have)
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and with a high workload.
  • Hands-on and open-minded approach to challenges.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $171,100 - $213,900 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
