Ranked #6 by ENR in water, HDR has an excellent career opportunity for a Wastewater Market Sector Leader that is passionate about protecting public health and understands the "One Water" concept and the inherent synergies between the drinking water, wastewater, recycled water, and stormwater markets. We are looking for someone who will work in a collaborative manner with local and national leadership to set the vision and strategy to expand and provide research, planning, design, and engineering services to drinking water agencies, related clients in other sectors, and relevant research organizations. This leader will serve as a client manager to select agencies, and as appropriate will serve as either Principal in Charge, Project Manager, Technical Lead and/or Quality Manager on projects. Services may include studies, planning, design, financial analysis, O&M, and alternative delivery. This individual will identify and develop new project opportunities in collaboration with business development teams, serve as a pursuit champion, and act as a resource for HDR pursuits where assistance is needed relative to the drinking water market. This role will collaborate with our business class practice leaders and professional discipline groups on technical services, marketing, activities to continually improve standards and best practices, and to implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews. As a leader and mentor to junior staff, the successful candidate will engage in and encourage technical involvement in industry organizations and functions including presentations and publications. The candidate will also participate in discussions and facilitate lessons learned for project delivery processes, trends, successes, strengths, and weaknesses. Primary Responsibilities: * Wastewater Growth and Strategy o Develop and drive a long-range Wastewater vision and strategy for HDR's North Texas Area. o Lead HDR's Wastewater branding in North Texas Area by engaging in professional organizations allied to the wastewater market. o Responsibilities also include collaborating with other technical and marketing staff in the pursuit of new projects, taking a leadership role in selected key pursuits. o Support the development of and provide reviews of scopes of work, fee estimate, project risk identification and project schedules. o Work with area leadership to coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires and assist leadership as necessary with technical or project management hires. o Identify technical gaps and support talent management and recruiting. o Identity and apply Wastewater initiatives to the marketplace. o Implement national Wastewater initiatives to marketplace. o Participate in industry associations and serve as a company role-model in business and community organizations. o Develop relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations o Client Management Activities. o In alignment and in support of our Client Managers, promote the Wastewater market. o Be involved in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews for Wastewater projects. o Serve as the Client Manager for selected key clients. * Project Delivery o Function as a project manager on large or key projects o Assist with contract review on key projects to help ensure risk management, proper staffing, quality reviews and resolution of claims. o Ensure the best technology and solutions are integrated into project delivery o Serve as a QAQC reviewer for Wastewater projects, including plans, specifications, models, presentation, and report, and be engaged early in the project delivery process. Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering. * Masters's degree in engineering, planning, or related field. * If an engineer, maintain engineering registration * Minimum of 10 years of experience in major water infrastructure projects * Minimum 10 years managing municipal water and wastewater projects, engineering budgets, project teams. * Minimum of 5 years of hands-on project engineering experience * Ability to handle multiple assignments. * Good leadership and organizational skills. * Experience with staff mentoring and development of multidiscipline teams a must.
