Job Description

This team member will ensure that all items received meet the approved criteria established by the hotel Food and Beverage/Purchasing Departments. Clerk will conduct a thorough, but prompt, inspection of every delivery to ascertain proper specification factors to determine acceptability.



Responsibilities

    Check shipment by comparing it with Daily Order Sheet and invoice to ensure that what we are receiving is what was ordered (quantity, price, quality state, size, count, weight tolerance and acceptable expiration date).
  • Communicate with managers and chefs regarding receiving discrepancies, when necessary, to assure proper credit or arrange for a replacement delivery.
  • If shipment is correct, time stamp and sign driver's and hotel copies of invoice.
  • Receive all new invoices through Birchstreet promptly.
  • Ensure all product dropped is properly stored. Product should be on a rack or shelf, off of the floor, unpackaged and kept at the proper temperature.
  • Fulfill requisitions promptly and accurately.
  • Deliver products and packages to various departments of the hotel.
  • Maintain package closet and track all incoming deliveries.
  • Manage incoming guest packages and deliver to bell closet in addition to the group packages maintained in the package closet.
  • Label all incoming bread, produce and specialty items as to outlet or banquet function.
  • Conduct random spot checks of all perishable items for proper storing and packaging to guard against quality loss due to over-exposure to storage temperatures, improper rotation, etc.
  • Maintain daily sanitation requirements of the purchasing areas including sweeping and mopping.
  • Assist in conducting End of Month physical inventories.


Qualifications

  • Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Must be able to handle repeated lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Should have basic computer operation understanding and effective communication skills
