Your Role

We design innovative spaces and environments that redefine the aviation experience. As part of our growing portfolio within the community sector and expanding work with aviation clients, we are seeking a Designer with a passion for aviation interiors and a strong interest in shaping the future of this field. This role is ideal for a designer with 0-3 years of interiors experience looking to contribute to cutting-edge projects while growing within a collaborative interiors team in Seattle.

As a Gensler Designer, your job will be to combine creativity and develop technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful interiors spaces for clients. You will collaborate with our broader design team to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation and construction administration phases of a project. You will learn to translate architectural sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and images, and will research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do

  • Collaborate on projects to hone your skills in programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, 2D and 3D development/rendering, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

  • Brainstorm interior architecture approaches to meet the Clients' needs

  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting

  • Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction

  • Collaborate within our team structure to deliver the best work for our clients

  • Partner with product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to develop a knowledge of finishes and furniture

  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives

  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples

  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

  • Stay updated with the latest trends in visualization, photography, cinematography, lighting, composition, VFX and generative A.I. to maintain our competitive edge

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school

  • 0-5 years of experience; relevant Internship experience preferred

  • Outstanding graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas throughout the process. Portfolios should include well organized examples of design work during school as well as relevant finish palates, test fitting, working visualizations, and design documentation completed during internships or previous positions

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Revit highly preferred

  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices

*The base salary will be estimated between $71,000 - $87,000 annually plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
