Providing inpatient and outpatient dental services

The resident will provide, to the best of his/her ability, outpatient and inpatient dental care and consultative services to all patients who desire such treatment and are determined to be physically, psychologically and medically able to undergo such care,

The resident will attend all lectures, conferences and seminars and will be prepared to make meaningful contributions.

Emergency patients are treated in a competent, caring manner as the situation arises.

The resident must be flexible to allow for the treatment of emergencies.

The resident will cooperate with and be prepared to work with all attending staff members.

The resident will be immediately available when on-call for the 24-hour treatment of dental emergencies when requested.

The resident will participate in all oral health screenings, patient education seminars, and all community education programs as assigned.

Residents will coordinate patient treatments with other Medical Departments, physicians and ancillary services.

In situational leadership, the resident demonstrates the ability to respond positively to changing circumstances to maximize the opportunity or minimize the problem.

He/she acts decisively and takes effective action.

The resident carries out the principles of positive guest relations by maintaining good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with all patients and fellow workers.

Applies knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan.

Applies knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his or her assigned unit, i.e. infant, adult, pediatric, geriatric and adolescent

Assess data reflective of each patient's status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient's age requirements relative to his or her age-specific healthcare needs.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited American Dental School with N.J.

Residency Permit Required
