Job Summary

As a key member of the technical/product marketing team, the Business Development Manager must have prior product and technical marketing responsibility. This position is responsible for driving growth for Toshiba's transmission and distribution business in the North America.

Responsibilities:



  • Developing and maintaining sales: identify customer requirements and workflow, understand competitive offerings, contribute to the development of the product road map, vision, and strategy as well as collaboration on product requirement specifications.
  • Market the product: creating effective product messaging, presenting to customers, and providing the sales and marketing organization with product information as required.
  • Implementation of marketing plans to introduce the products to new markets and customers including preparation of sales forecasts and other required reports.
  • Customer Development - including researching and identifying potential customers for products or services: preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers.
  • Providing sales and technical support to customers and end users
  • Attending trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
  • Monitoring/information gathering: US government - political and economic movement which can affect business in US Industry news/technical trends, including changes to regulations.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • 8-10 years sales experience, including three to five years of direct sales or sales management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and breadth of related industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Open-minded and willing to challenge new opportunities.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING:



  • Bachelors degree in business, MBA preferred.
