Maintenance Tech / Day and Night shift snn

Experienced Industrial Maintenance Techs, we have two 12-hour day openings, 6:00 am- 6:00 pm, and one 12-hour night opening, 6:00 pm-6:00 am on the rotating 2-2-3 schedule. We also have two 8-hour M-F positions available, first shift hours are 7:00 am- 3:30 pm

The wage for both positions depends on experience, but typically, less than $37 an hour is what we have offered. The 12-hour night shift also has a 12% shift premium in addition to the base wage. All 12-hour shifts have a $0.25 shift premium in addition to the base wage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

* Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.

* Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting requirements on motors, conveyor systems, production and auxiliary machinery by reading/following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications during both production and planned maintenance times.

* Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

* Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining function, form and texture of parts.

* Able to use rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to inspect replaced parts, monitor proper operation of equipment, or verify parts to be used in repairs.

* Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, digital multimeter, and straightedges to manufacturer or company specifications

* Operate an electric cart, forklift, articulating boom, and man lift

* Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, robotic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.

* Perform a variety of plumbing and light carpentry functions.

* Detect faulty operations, defective material, improper process controls and repair/report to proper supervision.

* Controls downtime by scheduling with supervisors and technicians of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

* Fabricates repair parts with machine shop instrumentation and equipment using basic machinist skills.

* Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needs of equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

* Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

* Provides technical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

* Prepares technical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

* Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks, and participating in in house training events.

* Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs through both written and oral effective communication skills.

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

* Supervisory Responsibilities - None.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

This position requires a high school diploma or HSED/GED Equivalent. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed. This position requires one to two years of training. Five years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be competent with electrical, hydraulic schematics and mechanical blueprints.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solves problems, and instructs or train lesser skilled employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include computer, various precision measuring devices and lifting devices. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices. Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/TS and quality system requirements and policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas. Additional PPE may be required as needed.
