THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As Program Director, your focus will be on supervision and administration of program planning, analysis, and coordination of the Potter County Children, Youth and Families (CYF) Program. Work involves overseeing all CYF budgetary matters, including revenue planning, reviewing, and approving all CYF expenditures, petitions for child support, foster placement invoicing, and adoption subsidies. Key responsibilities of this position are organizing and assigning workload, determining priority and response time, and setting departmental goals. You will have the opportunity to direct and participate in overall policy development and interpret, implement, and review policies and procedures ensuring compliance and the delivery of effective and quality services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • On-call, and after hours may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Children, Youth, and Families Program Specialist 2; or
  • Five years of professional level experience in the field of children, youth and families, including three years of administrative, supervisory, or consultative work; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Potter County. If no eligible candidates who live within Potter County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
