Job Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of all revenue transactions related to products, services and promotions in accordance with US GAAP. This person will have an extensive US GAAP and ASC606 technical revenue accounting background and have a proven ability to foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional and global organizations. Will provide leadership of the implementation of revenue accounting policies and procedures on a global basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Worldwide revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP
- Ensure revenue accounting policies are documented and applied consistently on a worldwide basis
- Act as the Revenue Accounting contact to support Rack Integration team and the SSGS Service team. Also support Sales, Marketing, FP&A and other business groups to understand and resolve revenue recognition issues; provide training and guidance as needed
- Support SSP, Volume Discounts, Services P/L and other revenue projects
- Involved in monthly, quarterly and yearly Revenue Accounting close process as a key owner
- Assist on training and onboarding of new hires
- Involved in financial statement disclosures related to deferred revenue and various revenue reporting
- Prepare quarterly and annual revenue accounting position papers as applicable
- Lead and manage key revenue OTC controls for Revenue team's SOX compliance
- Key contact with external auditors to review accounting assessments and to manage quarterly and annual audits
- Participate in special projects as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 10+ years of progressive experience - preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience (preferably at the Manager level) and public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a high-growth environment; multi-national experience.
- Licensed CPA.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of revenue accounting and ASC 606
- Ability to conduct technical accounting research and document findings
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
- Ability to effectively present information with confidence and accuracy to various levels of internal management and external auditors
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change
- Exceptional organizational skills, project management experience to include management of large-scale/global initiatives
- Ability to train and develop employees
- Matrix leadership experience of direct reports and cross-functional teams (Finance, Marketing, and Legal)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure situations, while problem solving and effectively multi-tasking to arrive at the correct resolutions
- Strong knowledge of SOX requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implement internal controls related to revenue and deferred revenue
- Experience with larger ERP systems (SAP), RevPro and related data across a global business Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Salary Range
$150,000 - $180,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
