Department:Transplant- Administration & Post Surgery

Status:Full Time, 40 hours per week

Schedule:Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for an Executive Assistant I to join our team in the Transplant- Administration & Post Surgery department at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

This position is responsible for the administrative and secretarial support of the Chair/Chief in the Department. Answers phones, registers patients, schedules appointments, posts surgical procedures, and coordinates insurance verification and pre-authorizations. Manages physician's calendar, coordinates travel and assists with manuscript sand protocols.

Primary Duties:

* Coordinates the administrative details related to the responsibilities of the Department Chair/Chief and Administrator of the Department which include, but are not limited to planning, preparing and compiling necessary information and materials for routine activities and special projects.

* Provides clerical support inclusive of typing, editing and copying of various clinical documents as well as manuscripts, protocols and presentations. Assists with preparation of presentations and other related documents for research and/or conferences.

* Functions as the department's liaison with Information Services and the Office of Telecommunications to maintain, plan, obtain and update technology services to include software, hardware, pagers, etc

* Participates in monitoring and controlling assigned operation budgets for all supply stock and orders with administrative guidelines.

* Prepares for, attends and participates in the staff and other meetings performing such functions as preparing materials, taking and transcribing minutes, etc

* Serves as the liaison in the Administrator's office to a wide range of Medical Center personnel and with individuals outside of the institution to affect the exchange of information, arrange for services and/or complete administrative tasks.

* Plans, provides and evaluates orientation, training, continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning as delegated by the Administrator and Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:

* On-the-Job Training equivalent combination of education and experience Required or

* Bachelor's degree Bachelor's degree Preferred

* 3+ years administrative experience with medical terminology, computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.

* Experience with payroll and accounting.

This position has a hiring range of $58,656 - $98,384
