Schedule: Sunday-Tuesday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; Wednesday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Summary: The Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks related to the safe assembly, delivery, and service of meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. This role supports overall food service operations while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment by HACCP standards. Essential Functions: Attend department meetings, in-services, and training sessions as assigned. Anticipate and respond to customer needs; take appropriate action to resolve issues. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas and equipment. Display a consistently positive and professional attitude. Adhere to all food safety and HACCP regulations. Notify supervisor of concerns, discrepancies, or product shortages. Support department initiatives to improve operations and customer satisfaction. Perform various duties, including tray line assembly, cafeteria service, food station setup, and patient tray delivery. Clean workstations, equipment, and floors following each meal service. Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform general cleaning tasks, including mopping. Prepare additional food items for patient meal service as needed. Participate in sanitation projects and departmental cleaning assignments. Assist with onboarding and cross-training of new and existing staff. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. - Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position). - Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position). - Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies.
