The University of Virginia is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Director of the International Studies Office (ISO). This position oversees all aspects of the ISO, including international student and scholar services, education abroad, intercultural programming, English language support, and global engagement initiatives. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Global Affairs, the Director will be responsible for strategic leadership, program administration, compliance, risk management, and fostering global partnerships that enhance the university's international presence.
Key Responsibilities: - International Student and Scholar Program: Supervise visa issuance and compliance for 2,500+ international students, 600+ graduates with Optional Practical Training (OPT), and 400+ international scholars. - Education Abroad: Oversee operations supporting 3,000+ students studying, researching, or interning abroad annually, including program development, risk management, and financial planning. - International Center: Manage services for dependents of international students and scholars, community intercultural programming, and guest accommodations for visiting international faculty. - Center for American English Language and Culture (CAELC): Direct ESL service delivery, contract programs, and language proficiency testing for the university community. - Strategic Leadership & Global Engagement:
