The Main Warehouse Operator will work under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager and will work with the Supply Chain Assistant in various aspects of daily warehouse operations. A successful Warehouse Operator will work independently and as part of a team following site policies and procedures, will demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy, and will develop and maintain positive internal customer and supplier relationships.
Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving 60%, maintaining stock in storage 35%, shipping 5%, and all associated tasks including but not limited to the following:
Communicating with delivering drivers. Inspecting delivering trailers. Unloading incoming shipments. Counting and visually inspecting pallets, boxes, jugs, etc. Verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips. Accepting deliveries in apparent good order or annotating delivery receipt for visible damage or shortage and releasing carriers. Rejecting deliveries that do not meet acceptance criteria or present food safety risk to the plant. Pulling samples as needed, maintaining samples according to established procedures. Receiving materials to stock in SAP. Filing packing slips and bills of lading. Filling out packaging and ingredient inspection and acceptance forms. Labeling incoming materials. Sorting, staging and putting away materials in proper storage areas. Engaging supply chain manager, assistants, QA or operations as needed.
Keeping packaging and chemical storage areas organized, including racks and coolers, organized. Maintaining First-In-First-Out system for storing materials. Rotating inventory to manage shelf-life items as needed. Performing inventory counts to verify current balance on hand and inventory accuracy.
Making maximum use of the space; protecting stock from damage. Pulling materials from storage for disposition. Pulling, staging and shipping outgoing materials. Participating in activities to support continuous improvements. Completing required safety training and audits on time. Participating in site activities, etc.
Required skills:
High School Diploma/GED AND 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related role OR current resident contractor at the Pryor Site. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
Basic computer skills and familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint and Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
