Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-years professional work experience in development, customer service, public relations, graphic design, creative media, or a similar field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the University's mission, goals, academic programs, and organizations.
  • Experience working in a fundraising gift database preferred.
  • Experience working in a financial accounting system preferred.
  • Experience working in a scholarship management system preferred.
  • Experience with Canva and other design platforms for reporting projects preferred.
  • Experience in higher education donor relations preferred.

Position Summary
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Scholarship Stewardship and is primarily responsible for supporting the growing stewardship efforts of our scholarship donors at UGA. This position ensures that UGA scholarship donors are properly thanked and receive timely and meaningful impact reports. The Scholarship Stewardship Coordinator will assist the Assistant Director of Scholarship Stewardship in all aspects of university-wide scholarship stewardship, focusing on initiatives that enhance the UGA scholarship donor experience. These initiatives include Scholarship Gratitude Reports, Georgia Commitment Scholarship Ambassador programming, and ThankView by EverTrue support.
This position is essential to the success of fundraising at the University, and enhances front-line development by implementing, maintaining, and coordinating institution-wide stewardship programs for UGA's endowed and non-endowed scholarships and other important donor stewardship initiatives, including the Georgia Commitment Scholarship Program. All stewardship efforts will align with the goals of both the University of Georgia and the Development and Alumni Relations division. The Scholarship Stewardship Coordinator must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and time management skills to implement initiatives that ensure donors feel appreciated and informed about the impact of their gifts. Our stewardship activities will engage, inspire, educate, and thank donors for their generosity.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated proofreading and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills with experience with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive donor and student data and interact with internal colleagues and UGA students, parents, alumni, friends and other outside contacts with diplomacy and tact
  • Exceptional communication skills, critical thinking skills, and interpersonal skills demonstrated through excellent relationship building with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders, along with an intuitive understanding of what will make donors, prospects and associates feel appreciated

Scholarship Stewardship

  • Manage a systematic scholarship stewardship reporting plan to inspire continued, greater giving from current major gift donors and prospects by connecting their past support for scholarships to its impact on campus. Initiatives include but are not limited to university-wide scholarship gratitude reports for unit and centrally awarded funds.

    • Collect impact stories, messages of thanks, and other necessary content to develop personalized stewardship communications.
    • Work in conjunction with Financial Aid and units to ensure student consent is received.



  • Work closely with the Office of Instruction and stay current on all Georgia Commitment Scholarship updates and processes.

Georgia Commitment Scholarship Ambassador Programming
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Scholarship Stewardship to manage the Georgia Commitment Scholarship Ambassador program.

    • Create a systematic database for communicating with ambassadors and signing up for events/donor visits. Ensure ambassador student consent is received for any event/visit.
    • Coordinate student participation in donor meetings and events.
    • Plan and attend meaningful bi-monthly ambassador meetings

  • In partnership with Financial Aid, Office of Instruction, Bursar's Office, UGAF, and Directors of Development across campus, support DAR fundraising priorities by advocating that donor intent is fulfilled and student privacy is upheld.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Scholarship Stewardship with ensuring ThankView users are onboarded, following the advised guidelines for importing GAIL donor lists, and using the software to meet division, department, and program goals.
