The Inventory Specialist position is a vital role in the Clinical Quality Assurance department. This role will work collaboratively with department supervisors and delegated staff to teach inventory principles including managing stock and how to order effectively while keeping costs down. Development and upkeep of par lists with peers and department staff is crucial to the advancement of the program.

This role will be based in Chappaqua Crossings with 3-4 days of travel between sites weekly in the southern region.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop relationships with department supervisors in the southern region
  • Become the subject matter expert in inventory process
  • Be available for questions and rounding
  • Develop schedule and process for maximizing time while rounding in departments
  • Track progress of southern region in terms of inventory management
  • Develop overstock process with northern counterpart
  • Coordinate returns of items back to vendors from each department
  • Collect and coordinate the return of any expired vaccines and medications back to PharmaLink or Inmar
  • Audit each location to ensure compliance with inventory management
  • Complete root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of issues or noncompliance
  • Resolve shipping and receiving issues with buildings and carriers
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
  • Proficiency in MS/Office - Word and Excel
  • Solid writing and proven documentation skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Proven creativity



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Inventory Experience
  • Knowledge of inventory principles



The hourly range for this role is $19.86 to $38.85 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
