Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 + month contract position. Responsibilities: Participate in key development activities in GWBARS team of our GTS Data Technology platform Hands-on design and ETL development in Data Warehouse environment Work on multiple projects concurrently, take ownership & pride in the work done by them, attending project meetings, understanding requirements, designing solutions, developing code Partner with near shore and offshore teammates in a matrix environment, coordinating with other support teams like L2, development, testing, up/down stream partners, etc. Work with the Business Analysts to understand the requirements work on high level & detailed design to address the real time issues in production Work with Information Architecture team for proposing technical solutions to business problems Identify gaps in technology and propose viable solutions Take accountability of the technical deliveries from offshore Work with the development teams and QA during the post code development phase Identify improvement areas within the application and work with the respective teams to implement the same Ensure adherence to defined process & quality standards, best practices, high quality levels in all deliverables Adhere to team's governing principles and policies Requirements: 15+ years as a Developer Strong leadership, communication, writing, and relationship skills across varied levels of influence Ability to design the system with little direction or guidance Excellent analytical and logical skills Self-starter with thought leadership Ability to partner with both technology and business associates to implement solutions Strong knowledge of project life cycle, Data Warehousing, Dimensional Data Modeling Ability to multitask and work independently Expert Knowledge in Oracle/Exadata Expert Knowledge Oracle SQL/PLSQL ETL Processing concepts Experience in handing large data volume and Performance Tuning Desired skills: Good understanding of the E2E process of the application Good understanding of all aspects of the application like upstream, database model, data processing and data distribution layers Payments or Banking background Ability to learn quickly and adapt to team environment Experience working in Agile or Waterfall methodology and understanding of various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle Proficient in Unix Shell Scripting and Autosys Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
