Reporting in to the Senior Director of Operations, theManager, Security Operations will be responsible for overseeing our operations teams supporting Electronic Security System (ESS) installation and service projects at U.S. military and other federal government sites around the United States, as well as our alarm Central Monitoring Centers. This role is responsible for forecasting and delivering revenue and margin for these teams by providing financial oversight (P&L management), managing staffing levels, leading the professional development of team members, and effectively implementing process improvements that result in margin expansion.The role will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with customers and employees supporting these sites.

Safety is a top priority for Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS). The Manager, Security Operations will also be responsible for compliance with the JCFS safety program for employees and subcontractors.

Location: Remote / Virtual (Work from home) with the ability to travel as needed.
Pay range: $135,000 - $165,000 base salary. Negotiable based on experience.
Bonus Eligible: Yes
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment.
Travel Required
: >25% as needed. Up to 50% at times.

As the Manager, Security Operations, you will:



  • Drive installation & service excellence to follow proven processes resulting in margin improvement
  • Drive accountability for installation & service contract portfolio revenue and executed margin results
  • Ensure safety, integrity, and ethics excellence for all team members
  • Drive forecasting and actualization of contract revenue and executed margin against forecast/plan
  • Assure installation & service operating cadence is consistent and functional in all teams
  • Coach and develop managers and team members in all areas of performance
  • Champion continuous improvement and the implementation of strategic initiatives
  • Provide feedback to leadership on market trends
  • Participate in customer accounts including for large, high priority opportunity pursuits
  • Meet leaders where they are and coach accordingly (i.e., not a one size fits all management style)


Required Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of progressively more responsible operations management experience in the Electronic Security System (ESS) industry with a broad knowledge of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) installation & service techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience directly managing Managers (Project Managers, etc)
  • Expertise in successfully managing large P&L's ($1 million or greater)


  • Strong project management principles with demonstrated experience successfully managing a portfolio of projects simultaneously
  • Prior experience driving process improvements and establishing new processes where needed
  • Strong presentation skills and proficiency in speaking to large audiences
  • Able to lead and direct cross-functional project teams to achieve business results
  • Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and inspire others
  • Proficient in software scheduling tools and applications


Preferred Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or similar field, or equivalent work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Industry certifications (Softwarehouse, Lenel, etc)
