The Vice President of Marketing will serve as the marketing lead for the Home and Community (H&C) Care Solutions business within Optum Health. H&C Care Solutions is an integrated array of care programs managed by a comprehensive, interdisciplinary team who provides high-touch, community-based support in the home and community for the most fragile and medically complex populations. The model augments primary care by delivering longitudinal care based on an individualized care plan to address medical, behavioral and social needs. End-to-end solutions in the portfolio include annual assessments, in-home longitudinal, urgent, palliative and hospice care, and transitioning from acute care or care in nursing homes.

In concert with business leaders, product, sales, operations and finance, the Vice President of Marketing will lead healthcare marketing leaders (Vice Presidents, Senior Directors, Directors and their teams) in the advancement of fully integrated, omni-channel, data-driven, go-to-market strategies, programs and campaigns to drive growth, engagement and retention for clients and consumers in the portfolio's programs and services.

This individual will provide strategic leadership to the consumer and B2B teams overseeing product positioning/ value prop definition in the marketplace, lead generation, pipeline/ client engagement as well as sales enablement strategies to deliver on the B2B goals of the business.

In addition, this leader will be a part of the H&C Care Solutions senior leadership team, providing valuable input on how marketing can be instrumental in business transformation, model reinvention, new revenue stream additions and a consumer-focused agenda.

As a member of the Optum Health Marketing extended leadership team, this leader will champion the adoption and utilization of advanced Martech capabilities and demonstration of return on those investments. A key component of this role will also be driving time and cost efficiencies in the overall operating model to improve speed to market and value creation.

As H&C Care Solutions continues to transform care delivery and advance whole health, the leader will be instrumental to shape, support and articulate the impact of marketing, clearly communicating measurable value while building a thriving team and culture that embraces inclusion and diversity and champions career development. The leader will report to the SVP, Head of Marketing for Optum Health Care Solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Develop, implement and manage execution of short and long-term marketing strategies to drive differentiation and measurable consumer and B2B results aligned to business plans and priorities
  • Assist in product and market positioning, go-to-market and launch strategies considering consumer, employer, payer and provider segments
  • Manage the development and execution of enrollment and retention across various programs within the H&C Care Solutions portfolio to meet key targets and performance goals
  • Lead the vision and design for consumer engagement and experiences as the H&C portfolio harmonizes stand-alone solutions, products and clinical operations, including the integration of newly acquired entities
  • Be an early adopter of enterprise investments in marketing technology and data; drive innovation and actively champion new ways to grow and improve the overall marketing performance of the H&C portfolio
  • Develop integrated consumer and B2B marketing programs utilizing research, data, insights, media, channels and content for measurable growth with consumer, employer, payer and provider segments
  • Advance our data-driven marketing agenda to deliver on outcomes, results and increased speed to market; inspire digital innovation and marketing modernization; ensure attribution and measurement
  • Support and apply brand standards across lines of business, ensuring consistency for optimal customer experience; harmonize stand-alone products/brands and experiences across consumer touchpoints while adhering to client demands and legal guidelines
  • In partnership with the Growth and Product teams, lead client discussions on go-to-market strategies and associated consumer experiences, always leading with a patient-first mindset
  • Manage marketing budgets to confirm initiatives and functions are managed within guidelines for ROI and cost management while implementing integration plans from M&A and consolidation opportunities
  • Develop and execute effective workforce strategy, including attracting and retaining talent, deploying talent against changing organizational needs and fostering positive employee experience

Required Qualifications:



  • 12+ years of experience in consumer and/or B2B marketing or in a related function (product/ sales/ operations)
  • 7+ years successfully leading a team to deliver results and developing staff in ways that strengthen team effectiveness and efficiencies
  • Proven success as a consumer-first, data-centric, digital-first, business-minded, strategic marketing leader, driving measurable results and return on marketing investment
  • Experience with developing B2B marketing strategies and partnering with growth/sales organizations on market positioning, value story creation, lead generation, pipeline nurturing and sales enablement
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and influence within a large, matrix organization
  • Experience collaborating with business partners to maintain strategic alignment and advance projects with multiple cross-functional and cross-market work groups
  • Experience successfully influencing senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
  • Experience using analytics to deliver quantitative and financial metrics for marketing initiatives
  • High EQ and self-awareness, shows confidence, consistency and perseverance in addressing challenges and overcoming obstacles; demonstrates initiative, stamina and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to motivate large teams (50+ team members) in the face of ongoing business changes; be able to re-design and iterate on team structure and operating model while continuing to delivery business value
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%



Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA in Marketing or related advanced degree
  • Experience with marketing technology adoption, usage and operating models
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Retirement programs, services and business models

The salary range for this role is $191,800 to $364,800 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
