Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Scrum Master with our client in the financial industry located in Plano, TX and Charlotte, NC. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize the flow of stories and the value delivered by one or more Scrum or Kanban teams
- Coordinate and facilitate Scrum or Kanban ceremonies, managing dependencies for the team, providing visibility into team delivery plans and progress, enabling continuous improvement within the team
- Ensure the impediments are resolved quickly, the team follows their agreed-to processes, and that there is a good relationship between the Product Owner and the development team
- Act as an Agile Team Coach, promote the Agile mindset and principles, empower the team to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potential
- Guide and coach one or more teams on Scrum practices and develops their understanding of Agile principles
- Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums/ART Syncs
- Help the team define norms/agreements, like a Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, and enforces the agreements
- Ensure the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog (in collaboration with the PO). Works with the Agile Coach, RTEs and other Scrum Masters to improve the maturity of Agile processes across the organization
- Maintain project documentation and deliverables in accordance with Enterprise Change requirements
- Act as a Servant Leader & helps resolve team conflict
- Coach the Team to achieve Sprint Goals & Sprint timelines
- Build and develop a high-performance team
- Promote self-help / self-organization within the teams
- Schedule, facilitate and coach Agile routines and ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective and PI Planning)
- Help establish and support consistent reporting practices across the teams & foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Work with Product Owners to establish and maintain Product/Story Roadmaps
- Help protect the development team from external requests during the Sprint work
- Help to remove or facilitate removal of impediments the team cannot resolve on their own
- Work closely with other Scrum Masters to exchange best practices and help to continually improve the process
- Drive maturity curve of agile adoption, partially based on company specific guidance i.e. Agile Maturity Journey, MRA compliance
- Contribute towards creation and adoption of working agreements and definitions of ready / definition of done, including use of appropriate tools, standards and best practices
- Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration, innovation and creativity
- Challenge and enable the team to continuously improve through intentional Lean and data driven inspect and adapt cycles
- Facilitates dependency and risk management for the Scrum teams and the ART
- Facilitates team and cross-team impediment removal for the team
- Promotes/facilitates communication and collaboration within the Agile teams and across the ART to support value delivery and Sprint commitments
- Provides visibility into the Agile teams delivery plans and Release plans on the program level and to stakeholders
- Measure team delivery, maturity, and performance and reviews the metrics with the team to identify improvement opportunities
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Scrum Master experience
- Demonstrate deep understanding of Jira
- Knowledge of Scaled Agile PI Planning framework, program and team level ceremonies
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
- Ability to lead and influence team in adopting the Agile principles while ensuring the correct use of Scrum process
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Desired skills:
- Able to manage and communicate teams located across the globe with different time zones
- Able to manage multiple programs/project and work with multiple RTEs to deliver shared success
- Scaled Agile Certified or other Agile certification
Pay Range: $68.38 - $76.38
