Job Title: Universal Banker III
Department: Western Office

We are looking for Universal Banker III to join our team. The Universal Banker III will be responsible for meeting with customers and non-customers to open all types of savings, checking and certificate of deposit accounts, based on discovery of customer needs, and to cross-sell appropriate Bank products and services of all types. Excellence in product knowledge and sales and service skills is essential. Must proactively discover needs and cross-sell the products and services that will appropriately meet those financial needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Opens, closes, and renews all types of savings, certificate of deposit and checking products.
  • Supervises and processes new accounts and performs callback duties for dual control.
  • Provides exceptional service in handling clients in person or on the telephone.
  • Processes Reject, Overdraft (OD), Non-Post, Stop, and HOLD items.
  • Review & perform callbacks for various reports and items.
  • Communicates with customers and mails out notices for NSF, OD, and Return Items.
  • Research deposit accounts such as Account Statement Printing & Image Printing.
  • Scan New Account Documents for review and callback.
  • Processes Outgoing wire and keyboard item input and complete next day review.
  • Assist with Safe Deposit Box access to clients as well as assist in opening new deposit boxes.
  • Process Mail and Courier deposit, Messenger Service Deposit, Mobile & Remote Deposit, review, and submit.
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, examine checks for endorsement and negotiability.
  • Keep informed of policies, practices, regulations, and laws applicable to their function.
  • Maintain Vault Shipment In & Out Support.
  • Performs teller or process new accounts or client service functions when needed.
  • Customer Service Duties include processing Reg E Claims and providing banking services both in-person and by telephone.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an operation specialist in bank operations required.
  • Retail sales and service experience, including cash handling, a plus.
  • Working knowledge of computers, related business programs and online banking systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or client complaints.
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, core banking process systems, e-mail and on-line banking programs.
  • Good analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Be able to handle large amounts of cash.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
