We are currently seeking a full-time Contracts Administrator at our Jet Products facility located in Kearny Mesa.

What Does the Job Involve?

The Contracts Administrator manages and reviews business contracts for the company. Negotiates contract terms and conditions with each party, analyzes potential risks involved with certain agreements, and ensures that all information outlined in the contracts is well known and understood by all parties.

What will my responsibilities include?



  • Prepares, organizes, and maintains contract records and files documenting contract awards, modification, performance, and compliance of basic client or customer demands/needs.
  • Examines performance requirements, delivery schedules and estimates of costs of material, equipment and production to ensure completeness and accuracy of contracts.
  • Manages contracts, contractual changes, and adherence of both the company and the customer.
  • Prepares bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other exhibits that may be required.
  • Requests or approves any amendments or extensions of contracts.
  • Monitors schedule of contractual deliverables. May coordinate sales with production, shipping and receiving departments to implement fulfilment of contracts. Provides advice and interpretation of contract requirements.
  • Attends required cross-functional meetings to align company obligations with customer demands and deadlines.
  • May participate in negotiation and may compile data for preparing estimates.
  • Advises appropriate departments (i.e. planning, purchasing, etc.) of contractual rights and obligations. May determine best method to resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to organization policies. Coordinates problem resolution with appropriate departments.
  • Analyzes system productivity and proposes solutions for work improvements.
  • Takes sufficient steps to minimize project risks.
  • Maintains direct customer contact. Makes periodic calls to customers to determine satisfaction with division products and/or services.
  • Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent communication both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in English language; both oral and written.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follows directions from a supervisor, interacts well with co-workers, understands and follows work rules and procedures, complies with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accepts constructive feedback, establishes goals and objectives, and exhibits initiative and commitment.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities; Kaizen events.
  • Participates in various trainings as required; Safety trainings.


What Key Skills and Experience Do I Need?



  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of practices, procedures and processes involved in contracts administration.
  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze information and to work in a team environment and work with cross functional groups.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite


What Qualifications Should I Have?

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.


Experience:



  • 4 years of previous contract administration experience.
  • Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Customer service experience a plus.
  • Government procurement/contract experience a plus.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations.)
  • Knowledge of Defense Federal Acquisitions Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) clauses is a plus.
