Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 4:30 AM to 7:30 AM and from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
This Part Time position is eligible for direct primary care coverage. In addition, these positions are eligible for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, holiday, jury duty and bereavement leave. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate.
OBJECTIVE:
To transport employees and clients from home to work and from work to Bus Stop the afternoon run will have some wait time due to employees needs on transportation, sometimes waiting times will be longer than expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working with those who may have Dementia, Alzheimer's and/or the elderly is plus; must be willing to be certified in CPR and First Aid. A valid Colorado driver's license without a history of violations with a two-year safe driving record is also required. For insurance purposes, this person is required to be between the ages of 25 and 70. This person must be experienced in driving passenger vans that hold up to 15 people.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be reliable; this position is currently a part-time position at 22.5 to 29 hours per week (4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 2:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. M-F).
- It is preferred that the incumbent have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact with various types of internal and external customers with the ability to relate effectively to people with aging-related disabilities. Goodwill USAFA Van Driver must maintain a professional attitude, appropriate hygiene, dress and grooming and be punctual and dependable. Incumbent must be able to perform heavy lifting and sitting for prolonged periods. Must provide guidance for all employees riding van.
- Occasional overtime may be required and must be able to work 5 holidays per year with flexible shifts.
- The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business*.
*Per auto vehicle insurance carrier requirements: For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must be at least:
- 19 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation),
- 25 - 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services,
- 21 years of age for CDL.
Applicants/employee will be required to undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check; applicants/employees must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)(Note: not all violations are a disqualification for employment and each case will be reviewed by the insurance carrier); must have valid Colorado State driver license; must also be able to operate company vehicle, and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation.
Applicant/employees using their personal vehicle for company business (receiving company mileage reimbursement), must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS {Essential Functions}
Transportation
The Goodwill USAFA Van Driver must exhibit sound judgment when speaking with and assisting the clients. The incumbent will pick up and drop off clients from their home and deliver them to USAFA in a safe and timely matter, in the afternoon Hours Driver will pick up employees From USAFA Dormitories and deliver them to City Bus stop located at Voyager Parkway.
The USAFA Van Driver must be able to followed route according to daily pick up schedules, adjusting for the safest and most efficient course to deliver and Pick up clients to The USAFA Dormitories and back to bus stop. The Goodwill USAFA Van Driver must be able to read and understand maps and use a GPS (Global Positioning System) and follow all rules and regulations driving in the state of Colorado. Also The Goodwill USAFA Van Driver is responsible to take the van to Regular maintenance checkups that vehicle requires to Discover Goodwill Maintenance Shop Located in Old Colorado City
Van Maintenance and Safety
The Goodwill USAFA Van Driver is responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior, ensure the vehicle's tank is maintained at least half full at all times, check and add oil and coolant as needed and remove any trash at the conclusion of each day's use. The incumbent must complete all Discover Goodwill of Southern & Western Colorado driver, safety, and first aid trainings deemed necessary by the department. The Goodwill USAFA Van driver must be prepared to administer first aid techniques and follow Discover Goodwill protocols for any scenarios that may take place while driving clients.
Tracking and Reporting
The Goodwill USAFA Van Driver will conduct, document and maintain all paperwork involved in transporting clients and complete the vehicle inspection sheet of the vehicle prior to operating and report any vehicle deficiencies or mishaps to Base wide Site Manager. The incumbent will maintain a good working knowledge of vehicle accident reporting.
Relationship Management
The Goodwill USAFA Van Driver will communicate effectively with employees, co-workers and staff personnel. The incumbent will communicate concerns and behaviors of clients to Basewide Site Manager while maintaining confidentiality. In addition, this position will engage and maintain conversations/interactions/ responses with clients that are encouraging and respectful. The incumbent will also perform all other duties as assigned or directed by Basewide Site Manager.
**Per the Federal regulation - 5352.242-9000: CONTRACTOR ACCESS TO AIR FORCE INSTALLATIONS (NOV 2012):
- The contractor shall obtain base identification and vehicle passes, if required, for all contractor personnel who make frequent visits to or perform work on the Air Force installation(s) cited in the contract. Contractor personnel are required to wear or prominently display installation identification badges or contractor-furnished, contractor identification badges while visiting or performing work on the
- The contractor shall submit a written request on company letterhead to the contracting officer listing the following: contract number, location of work site, start and stop dates, and names of employees and subcontractor employees needing access to the base. The letter will also specify the individual(s) authorized to sign for a request for base identification credentials or vehicle passes. The contracting officer will endorse the request and forward it to the issuing base pass and registration office or Security Forces for processing. When reporting to the registration office, the authorized contractor individual(s) should provide a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, valid vehicle insurance certificate, and refer to USAFA A-01 Contractor Access to USAFA Instruction to obtain a vehicle
- During performance of the contract, the contractor shall be responsible for obtaining required identification for newly assigned personnel and for prompt return of credentials and vehicle passes for any employee who no longer requires access to the work
- Work under this contract does not require entry into controlled areas. Additional Special Clearance requirements are outlined in PWS Section 4.2.
- Upon completion or termination of the contract or expiration of the identification passes, the prime contractor shall ensure that all base identification passes issued to employees and subcontractor employees are returned to the issuing
