The Role
The USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation, one of 17 sections of the United States Tennis Association, is seeking an efficient, proactive, and detail-oriented part-time HR Generalist to work remotely 25 hours a week. This role is pivotal in facilitating daily HR functions. The ideal candidate has a successful track record of performing in this or a similar role. This role is pivotal in facilitating daily HR functions, ensuring smooth HR operations, and supporting key initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in HR administration, deep knowledge of HR principles, and the ability to work autonomously while supporting the HR Manager in both operational and strategic HR functions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, managing the HR email inbox and ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, including updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), documenting policy updates, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
- Ensure multi-state compliance (DC, MD, VA, WV) with employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Collaborate with the HR Manager to optimize HR processes and drive efficiency.
- Track and manage HR department projects, to-do lists, and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee aspects of recruitment, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and job offer processing.
- Conduct and coordinate new hire orientations, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
- Maintain and update job descriptions and role requirements.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support, including HRIS entry, digital file maintenance, and employee intranet updates.
- Manage compliance-related requirements, such as background checks, SafeSport training, CPR, First Aid, and AED training.
- Administer employee benefits programs, assisting employees with benefit inquiries, open enrollment, and benefits reconciliation.
- Process monthly benefits invoices accurately through the accounts payable system.
- Organize and administer training and development programs, including scheduling sessions and tracking participation.
- Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual HR reports for leadership.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field (Associate's degree or High School Diploma may be considered with equivalent experience).
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist role.
- 3-5 years of experience managing HRIS systems.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive) preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Must reside in the Mid-Atlantic region (MD, DC, VA, WV).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to make repetitive motions, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, and lift up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
