MaineHealth Primary Care - Family Medicine - Standish is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join a growing team. The NP/PA will be responsible for providing Walk-In Primary Care services for established patients of MaineHealth Primary Care - Family Medicine - Standish & MaineHealth Primary Care - Internal Medicine and Pediatrics - Windham. Responsibilities would include including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating patients. This is a team care approach that will be working closely with physicians and other clinicians to provide patients a medical home - a place to go for help with any health issues.

Schedule:

  • 4-day Work Week
  • Mondays & Wednesdays at MH Primary Care - Family Medicine - Standish
  • Thursdays & Fridays at MH Primary Care - Internal Medicine and Pediatrics - Windham

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine as Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant. Current certification as NP/PA required.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • 2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider required.
  • Knowledge of advanced practice of nursing, professional nursing theory, practices and regulations related to evaluating and providing patient care, and professional ethics related to the delivery of nursing care.
  • Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including taking medical histories, performing physicals, evaluating health status, including state of wellness and compliance with care recommendations.
  • Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking and other organizational matters.
  • Ability to make responsible decisions within scope of NP Practice.
  • Ability to educate patients, families, and staff in user-friendly manner.
  • Strong computer skills with skill in using computerized health information management system.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff and the public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
