Overview

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. AMERICAN SYSTEMS is currently seeking a Nuclear Systems Analyst with USSTRATCOM Planning Experience to support operational testing of multiple nuclear planning systems, at Offutt AFB, NE. This position supports the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center's (AFOTEC) ICBM Operational Test & Evaluation Team.

JOB SCOPE: Join a team of nuclear operations, planning, and maintenance experts, cybersecurity professionals, test engineers, and test analysts. Recognized expert in the design, development, execution, and reporting of operational testing used to determine the effectiveness and suitability of the nation's next-generation of nuclear planning systems.



Responsibilities

    Play a vital role in national security by supporting operational testing and evaluation of nuclear planning systems for AFOTEC, focusing on systems like ISPAN Increment Five, NPES Recapitalization, and GASNT Increment Two.
  • Leverage your USSTRATCOM planning experience to design, develop, and execute operational tests to assess the effectiveness and suitability of next-generation nuclear planning systems.
  • Translate complex military user needs and acquisition program requirements into measurable test metrics, ensuring alignment with operational realities.
  • Actively participate in Integrated Test Teams (ITT), collaborating with program developers, subject matter experts, and the user community to shape test strategies.
  • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on Operational Assessments (OA) of nuclear planning and alerting systems, providing critical insights into system performance.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate Operational Test (OT) activities with Developmental Test (DT) activities to maximize test efficiency and data utilization.
  • Collaborate with AFOTEC test teams to ensure comprehensive test plans incorporate appropriate Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) and Measures of Suitability (MOS).
  • Participate in Developmental and Integrated testing, conduct Operational Tests, collect and analyze data, and report results for each test event, contributing to a holistic understanding of system performance.
  • Document analysis and test techniques, establishing best practices for future operational test design, planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership, stakeholders, and technical teams, effectively communicating complex findings and recommendations.
  • Develop clear and concise documentation, including reports, studies, and briefings, to effectively convey information and support decision-making.
  • Actively engage in working groups, planning teams, test events, and conferences, representing AFOTEC and contributing to the advancement of nuclear planning system testing.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6+ years of operational experience as a Nuclear Submarine Officer (SSBN), Nuclear and Missile Operations Officer (13N), or Bomber Pilot/Combat Systems Officer.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate user needs into testable requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with operational test and evaluation (OT&E) methodologies is highly desired.
  • 2+ years of USSTRATCOM Planning experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with nuclear planning software systems and the USSTRATCOM nuclear planning process is a plus.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required (Candidates with a Secret clearance will be considered). Must be eligible for SCI access and other special security accesses. Current background investigation within the last six years from actual hire date is required.


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $80,100.00/Yr. - USD $133,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
