Job Summary

GKN Aerospace Engine Business Line is growing and consists of sites spread over Europe, America & Asia. Part of the transformation into a globally connected enterprise is to create one common PLM backbone for the entire engines business line to manage product related data throughout the lifecycle.

As part of this global development, we are now looking for a Subject Matter Expert working with Teamcenter & NX CAD and CAM within our PLM DevOps Team supporting all GKN Engines sites in the US. The work will be based from the US El Cajon site but will also require travel to other sites within GKN

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced PLM Subject Matter Expert with a business focus primary towards manufacturing engineering to join our DevOps Team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, supporting business processes and manufacturing engineering operations. This role requires a deep understanding of PLM processes, strong technical skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Job Responsibilities

* PLM Management: Support daily PLM operations through dev-ops framework including maintaining, updating and developing the PLM solution.

* Translate Business Needs into PLM Ways of Working: Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to translate their requirements into clear documentation and effective PLM Ways of working that enhance business operations.

* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the PLM system and implement best practices.

* User Support & Mentoring: Articulate expert knowledge on manufacturing engineering and business processes by providing customized end-user support in 1:1 and group training sessions through use of written, visual and verbal communication methods.

* Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation such as user stories, test cases, workflows, and user guides.

* Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and standard operation processes related to product data management and subject configurations.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

* BS degree in Mechanical and/or Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent of 8+ years of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems experience.

* 5+ years of PLM experience with a strong focus on PLM management, business processes, and manufacturing engineering

* Proficiency in PLM software (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, ENOVIA) and related CAD/CAM tools

* Strong technical skills

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities

* Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and influence stakeholders.

* Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a structured manner

* Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to PLM and product data management

* Sound understanding of manufacturing operations in a controlled environment (aerospace, automotive or medical).with at least 5 years' of experience.

* This job role requires proficiency in English, both verbal and written, that is sufficient to understand and effectively follow written safety procedures, company policies, work instructions, operations manuals, and more in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with Teamcenter, NX CAD & NX CAM is a strong plus

* Experience working with Model Based Definitions (MBD) in a Model Based enterprise (MBE) environment.

* Experience with Agile methodologies and project management

* Familiarity with Business Process Improvement or Lean principles

* Knowledge of document management, part management, BOM, BOP/Routing management, and access control (ITAR)

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Self-starter with the ability to work under own initiative

* Certified in training/coaching others (train the trainer)

* Experience in end-user interaction and communication

* Experience or knowledge in integrations between PLM and other system/system domains

* Ability to travel, including occasional overseas travel

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is between $99,716 - $124,645
