Advanced Systems Engineer - USWDSS Program

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Systems Engineer to join the high-impact USWDSS program, where you'll play a key role in software integration, testing, and automation. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of defense technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Software Integration & Troubleshooting - Work across multi-disciplinary teams to resolve integration challenges related to networking, software compatibility, and virtualization in complex environments.

  • DevOps & Automation - Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and containerization to streamline software deployments and improve efficiency.

  • Infrastructure & High Availability - Design and maintain high-availability and failover solutions using Red Hat High Availability tools (Pacemaker, PCS, DRBD) and virtualization platforms.

  • Scripting & Automation - Utilize Ansible, Linux, and infrastructure automation to enhance system performance and scalability.

  • Testing & Validation - Plan, execute, and validate software integrations, oversee regression testing, and ensure bug fixes maintain system stability.

  • Agile Collaboration - Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stand-ups, driving continuous improvement and timely feature delivery.

  • Documentation & Process Improvement - Manage test artifacts, analyze results, and contribute to refining team workflows for better productivity and quality.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with Red Hat High Availability solutions (Pacemaker, PCS, DRBD).

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Red Hat Virtualization, VMware).

  • Experience in Ansible scripting and automation.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Red Hat High Availability solutions (Pacemaker, PCS, DRBD)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with virtualization platforms, including Red Hat Virtualization and VMware
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Ansible scripting and automation
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Agile experience
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and technical standards
  • Effective collaborator who values team success
  • Strong Linux systems administration skills
  • Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible
  • Basic knowledge of VLAN networking and Bash scripting
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Sensu Go
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and KubeVirt.
