Electrified Powertrain Controls Engineer (Energy Management)

The Electrified Powertrain Controls Engineer will lead the development of supervisory energy management algorithms and strategies for the next generation of Stellantis electrified vehicle programs. The ideal candidate is a strong team player who can comfortably perform a cross-functional role, interfacing with multiple disciplines of vehicle engineering and several stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:



  • Interfacing with various stakeholders across the functional areas pertinent to high voltage energy management to contribute to the definition of high voltage energy management concepts and functions
  • Contributing to the definition of subsystem functional objectives and requirements for high voltage charging and high voltage energy management
  • Designing control strategies based on subsystem functional requirements
  • Performing verification and validation of control algorithms against functional requirements employing methods of model-in-the -loop, hardware-in-the-loop, subsystem test and vehicle test
  • Leading subsystem simulation activities to support development of control algorithms

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Basic understanding of control theory
  • Demonstrated technical problem solving skills
  • Strong overall knowledge of vehicle and powertrain functions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced control methods and application
  • System optimization methods
  • Testing and validation of electric vehicle high voltage systems
  • Electric vehicle charging standards


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master of Science or an equivalent degree from an accredited university with similar focus and 5 years of work experience
