Fishbeck is seeking a Survey Technician or Surveyor to work out of our Terre Haute, IN office. We are seeking a skilled surveyor with expertise in topographic mapping, construction staking, boundary/control surveying, ALTA/NSPS surveys, and subdivisions. Proficiency with conventional equipment, robotic total stations, and Trimble GPS is essential.
Primary Functions
- Adjust and operate modern survey equipment.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to perform various types of construction staking and layout.
- Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches.
- Perform property research and collect field data to execute boundary surveys.
- Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson Survey.
- Report directly to a Senior Professional Land Surveyor.
Desired Education/Licensure
- Minimum 2-year Survey/Civil Associates Degree required.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying or Engineering preferred.
- PS, LS, or SIT License preferred.
Desired Skills/Experience
- 3+ years of related surveying experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Carlson Survey.
- Ability to work on construction and project sites while complying with all applicable safety requirements.
- Work effectively both independently and as a team member.
- Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Perform responsibilities with attention to detail and deadlines.

Minimum Physical Requirements
Employees will need to be able to walk, climb, and maneuver outdoors to conduct field surveys; lift and carry survey equipment; and operate company motor vehicle to travel to work sites. Outdoor work in inclement weather is necessary. Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in person, in writing, and over the phone. Indoor work involves using a computer and other standard office equipment, sitting, standing, and light lifting. Visual acuity is necessary to perform responsibilities.
