A Brief Overview
The Environmental Program Manager has primary responsibility for environmental policy development and enhancement, training and regulatory compliance oversight for the Hunt Military Communities portfolio. The position will act as the chief advisor to the Director of Environmental and Safety and will be the site-level point of contact for environmental concerns.

What you will do



  • Advises the Director of Environmental and Safety on any environmental condition that may exist or potentially exist that could have regulatory, legal or media impact on the company.
  • Advises the Director of Environmental and Safety of any new Federal, State or local environmental regulations that may impact Hunt Military Communities.
  • Works with Property Leadership as their point of contact for environmental concerns.
  • Assists with annual environmental compliance audits, creates reports, and provides recommendations to evaluate training, operational competence and to control or eliminate environmental hazards.
  • Partners with the Safety Program Manager in development, review, and implementation of Safety and Environmental Plans and Policies, as well as effective processes throughout the portfolio.
  • Assists with the development of environmental scopes, work plans, and environmental vendor selection and vetting.
  • Provides environmental guidance on the development of safety Activity Hazard Analyses.
  • Provides guidance and Quality Control/Quality Assurance oversight of environmental work, projects, or disputes
  • Works with property leadership to review work orders to ensure proper documentation and execution/mitigation of environmental issues.
  • Partners with the Safety Program manager to oversee Department of Transportation compliance rules and regulations pertaining to the safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials, compressed gasses, flammables, and corrosives Develops and presents standardized training materials.
  • Identifies Zone 1 and Zone 2 Radon locations to provide oversight of testing, mitigation, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times-on and off the property.
  • Provides professional representation to command, housing, and other external parties.
  • Escalates property issues or any crises to appropriate parties.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with focus in Environmental Sciences, Health, Safety or equivalent Required
  • equivalent work experience in Environmental Health and Safety field. Required
  • Two to five years' experience in Property Management. Required
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work within specified deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to define problems and organize efficient solutions, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong networking, influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills critical.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Requires a self-motivated, team player who pays close attention to detail and who can prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Must combine effective leadership and strong technical knowledge with a positive and service-oriented attitude. Must motivate, delegate, and provide constructive feedback as appropriate to a team.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of different people in a variety of situations.
