Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Capability Developer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The Guam Defense System Joint Program Office (GDS JPO) is actively seeking a Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Capability Developer with extensive experience in tactical, operational, and strategic employment of Joint IAMD systems. This position resides within the Joint Capability Integration Division and focuses on shaping the future of Guam defense systems through rigorous planning, capability development, and system integration.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated operational expertise as an IAMD operator with multiple deployments, air battle management proficiency, and air defense artillery fire control experience. Additionally, the candidate will leverage their expertise to support the development of the Joint Integrated Battle Manager (JIBM), advancing joint engagement coordination and operational direction. This role involves engaging with diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment across complex systems, and delivering innovative defense solutions to support national security objectives.

This role requires a proactive, collaborative, and forward-thinking professional capable of working effectively in dynamic, cross-functional environments. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence the defense posture in the Pacific region and ensure seamless integration of critical missile defense systems.

Duties Include:

    Guam Defense Planning and Synchronization:
    • Develop and oversee the integration of IAMD systems, including THAAD, Patriot, Aegis, Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS), Indirect Fire Protection Capability, C2BMC, and joint sensors/networks.
    • Coordinate and synchronize defense strategies for Guam to ensure comprehensive coverage and responsiveness against evolving threats.
    • Foster interoperability and effective communication across systems to enhance the joint defense architecture.
  1. Capability Development for Joint Engagement Coordination:
    • Represent the warfighter community in the capability development of the Joint Integrated Battle Manager (JIBM), providing clear, actionable guidance to development teams.
    • Ensure JIBM capabilities meet operational requirements for engagement coordination, joint targeting, and battle management.
    • Advocate for the needs and perspectives of IAMD operators in technical development discussions.
  1. Operational Expertise and Risk Management:
    • Apply hands-on experience to assess operational risks, identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Evaluate system performance and ensure alignment with mission-critical objectives across tactical, operational, and strategic levels.
  1. Systems Integration and Human-Machine Interface (HMI):
    • Lead efforts to refine human-machine interfaces, ensuring optimal usability and situational awareness for operators.
    • Provide technical oversight on system interoperability and integration to enhance overall mission effectiveness.
  1. Stakeholder Collaboration and Engagement:
    • Act as a liaison between the Joint Capability Integration Division, engineering teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring program objectives are met.
    • Prepare and deliver briefings to senior leaders, program offices, and operational users, translating technical concepts into actionable insights.
  1. Training and Warfighter Advocacy:
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on IAMD tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), assisting with training development for operational teams.
    • Offer strategic recommendations to enhance joint engagement coordination and IAMD operational effectiveness.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Proven operational experience as an IAMD operator with multiple deployments.
  • Air battle management expertise and/or air defense artillery fire control officer experience.
  • Proficiency in integrating IAMD systems and capabilities, including THAAD, Patriot, Aegis, IBCS, and related networks.
  • Extensive knowledge of joint defense planning and execution within complex, multi-domain environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate risks in system integration and capability alignment.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Travel: 10%
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Advanced degree in a related field is highly desirable.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Guam's strategic defense requirements and Pacific operational environments.
  • Experience working within cross-functional and diverse teams to address complex defense challenges.
  • Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and policies related to IAMD systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to various audiences.
  • Experience in human-machine interface (HMI) development and optimization.
