Main Duties & Responsibilities

SUMMARY

This occupation requires the set up and operation of various precision sheet metal equipment. To fabricate sheet metal assemblies, detail assemblies and parts of light gauge material. The types of material include: all grade aluminum, stainless steel, cold roll steel (Approximately .010 to .250 thick). This occupation requires moderate physical exertion including lifting, bending and considerable time standing.

Minimum of three (3) years experience in precision sheet metal. Must be able to fabricate parts from sheet metal with experience in all types of material and tooling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Able to perform setups and operate various sheet metal related equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Able to run a job from start to finish and be responsible for own first article.
  • Able to work in development of first run parts and assemblies.
  • Deburring and finishing work.
  • Knowledge of math and trigonometry.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

- Shear, punch press, unipunch, press brake, power notchers.
- Fabricate parts to dimensional tolerances as required by engineering drawings.
- Responsible for checking all operations from material gauge and type through shearing, punching or forming.
- Figure shear sizes from basic engineering drawings.
- Be willing to work at assigned jobs in or outside the sheet metal department.
- Able to use 90 grinders, oscillators, files, body grinders, die grinders and degreasing.

Pay Range: $25 - $30/hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4PM - 2:30AM
